Our story

SN Seafood was established in 2007 as a partnership between Ståle Nilsen and the Kangamiut Group A/S. 

 

Since the foundation in 2007, SN Seafood has grown into a significant supplier of frozen fish from the Barent's Sea and the North Atlantic.

 

SN Seafood’s main products are sea frozen wild caught fish from the North Atlantic. The firm works closely with Norwegian and International shipowners who are also its main suppliers of seafood

 

In 2025, Kangamiut Group A/S acquired Ståle Nilsen's shares due to Ståle's health issues, and today the company is a main subsidiary under Kangamiut Seafood A/S. As such, the year long collaboration and synergies between the two companies continue in this new constellation.

A tribute to Ståle Nilsen: 26 June 1962 to 10 January 2026

Ståle Nilsen, co-founder of SN Seafood and partner & CEO until July 2025, sadly passed away on 10 January 2026 following a long fight against cancer.

 

We will always remember Ståle for his joyful personality, his talent for seafood business, and for his valued partnership.

 

Ståle will be dearly missed.
